The Ocean will return to Spain in February 2027 for two shows in Madrid and Barcelona, following their headline appearance at Be Prog! My Friend. The German band will present their new chapter with Solaris, an ambitious album marking a new stage in the career of one of the most prominent bands in contemporary post-metal.
The shows will take place on February 3rd at Revi Live (Madrid) and February 4th at Salamandra (L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona). Two opportunities to experience the evolution of The Ocean live as they embark on this new chapter with a renewed line-up and a musical approach that once again expands their sonic and conceptual boundaries.
With Solaris, The Ocean usher in a new era following the changes that have transformed the band in recent years. The album, which follows Holocene (2023), brings together new vocalists Lane Shi and Enrico Tiberi, guitarists Emmanuel Jessua and Marco Gennaro, founding guitarist Robin Staps, bassist Mattias Hägerstrand and drummer Jordi Farré. Recorded at Berlin's legendary Hansa Studios and produced by Jens Bogren, the album unfolds across nearly 70 minutes of music, combining the band's atmospheric post-metal with new textures, arrangements and sonic explorations.
Inspired both by Andrei Tarkovsky's film Solaris and by the journals and historical documents of great explorers, the album reflects on human ambition, the drive to discover the unknown and the consequences of our constant search for answers. A work that connects cosmic exploration with history and the human condition, reaffirming The Ocean's ability to create far-reaching musical and narrative worlds.
The tour will feature A.A. Williams as special guest. The British artist will arrive in Spain with Solstice, her new album released in June 2026, further establishing her distinctive combination of intensity, sensitivity and immersive atmospheres. Since her debut, Williams has toured stages around the world alongside bands such as Cult of Luna, Explosions in the Sky, Russian Circles, Sleep Token and The Sisters of Mercy, while also building a strong career as a headline artist. Her classical training and instrumental versatility bring a unique dimension to a sound that moves between atmospheric rock, post-rock and more introspective sonic landscapes.
