Following the announcement of his return to the stage with the European 'Metamorphosis' tour, Devin Townsend has confirmed two Spanish dates in a very special format. The Canadian musician will perform at Revi Live in Madrid on October 9 and at Salamandra in L’Hospitalet, Barcelona on October 10, offering an intimate experience that combines an acoustic performance with a live Q&A session with the audience.

Widely regarded as one of the most creative and unpredictable figures in contemporary music, Devin Townsend has spent more than four decades defying categorisation. From the ferocity of Strapping Young Lad to the versatility of Devin Townsend Project, Casualties of Cool and Punky Brüster, his 31 studio albums have established him as one of progressive metal's most influential and innovative artists.

In 2025, following years of world tours and landmark performances such as his iconic Royal Albert Hall show, Townsend announced an indefinite hiatus from touring. After premiering 'The Moth' live—his most ambitious work to date—he returned home to complete the studio album, due for release on May 29, 2026 via InsideOut Music, while embarking on a new chapter both artistically and personally.

Now, 'Metamorphosis' marks his long-awaited return to the stage with a completely different approach. Stripping away the large-scale production of his usual performances, this tour offers a rare opportunity to experience Devin Townsend in his most personal and intimate form, performing songs spanning every era of his career in an acoustic setting while sharing the stories behind them.

Each performance promises to be unique, featuring an ever-changing setlist that explores different stages of his extensive catalogue, alongside the spontaneity, humour and unexpected moments that have always defined his live shows.
