Exhumed + Gruesome
The wildest machinery of American death metal lands in our country this coming April and May with an unmissable double bill: Exhumed and Gruesome, two essential forces of contemporary extreme metal. The dates will be April 29 at Groove in Portugalete and May 2 at Revi Live in Madrid.
Exhumed, absolute pioneers of gore metal, return with their latest and macabre work, ‘To the Dead’, an album that encapsulates decades of putrid riffs, murderous blast beats, and screams born from the depths where their legend began. With Matt Harvey at the helm and former members such as Mike Beams, Leon del Muerte, Matt Widener, and Bud Burke contributing to the composition, the band celebrates its own history with a journey straight to the heart of their decrepit universe. A sonic feast as repulsive as it is irresistible.
Joining them, Gruesome—the living embodiment of Chuck Schuldiner’s legacy—will present their long‑awaited new album ‘Silent Echoes’, a direct homage to the progressive and visionary spirit of Death’s classic ‘Human’ (1991). After years of development marked by the loss of the legendary Sean Reinert —mentor to drummer Gus Rios and a key figure in the album’s conception— the band elevates its sound toward more technical, introspective, and ambitious territory while preserving intact their devotion to primordial death metal.
